Rowlett Creek Preserve

2525 Castle Road, Garland, TX 75040

  • 15 miles single track
  • Beginner – Intermediate
  • Picnic areas, water faucets, porta-potty available

The “RCP” has 14 loops winding among the trees and creek beds. For the most part it is flat making it a very fast ride with a couple of technical spots while at the same time making it great for those just getting into the sport. It is one of the best mountain biking spots Dallas residents can count on for a fun ride.

River Legacy Park Mountain Bike Trail

703 N.W. Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington, TX 76006

  • 10 miles single track
  • Beginner – Advanced
  • No water available

River Legacy Trail has some of the best cross-country around. The trails range from paved hike and bike paths to blue and red marked single track. The blue is categorized as beginner and intermediate skill trails while red is recommended for more advanced riders. Drops, climbs, embanked turns. This park has it all! For those who might find some of the technical areas a bit hairy, all of the obstacles have a safe route around to bypass and continue on the trail.

Boulder Park

6603 Pastor Bailey Dr., Dallas, Tx

  • Beginner – Advanced
  • No facilities

Boulder Park is just four miles from the Oak Cliff Nature Preserve but has a few more climbs than its sister trail. There are six loops or sections of trail offering different skill level trails marked in blue and red by DORBA. Rockier terrain gives this trail a different flavor than some of the other trails in the area. Church parking is allowed during the week and on Saturdays, but on Sunday parking is limited to the streets.

Big Cedar Wilderness Trail

5950 Eagle Ford Drive, Dallas, TX

  • 17+ miles single track and ranch road
  • Beginner – Advanced
  • All the amenities

Includes the highest elevation in Dallas at just over 700 feet. Multiple loops and marked skill levels criss cross the mountain. The land is on Mountain Creek Church’s property and all riders will need a waiver to use the property. Definitely considered to be some of Dallas’ most challenging trails with intense climbs and steep descents.

Northshore Trail

  • Restrooms available

Located on the north side of Grapevine Lake, the Northshore Trails are Dallas’ best known and most-used bike trails. The trails consist of two separate loops, the East Loop being easier than the West Loop. There are fees, but only if you enter from Rockledge or Twin Coves Park.
