Biking during the winter in Dallas is a welcome change from the sweltering heat of a Texas summer. The crisp air can be invigorating and recharging during your ride. Here are the top places to bike this winter in Dallas.

  1. Boulder Park

When you are looking for a bike trail that has some significant climbs, you want to consider Boulder Park. The trail is located in South Dallas at 6600 Pastor Bailey Drive. Hours of the trail are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. There are two loops that have different skill levels; if you are an experienced mountain biker, take a ride on the harder trail. There are some fun twists, turns, and drop-offs that will surprise you.

  1. Big Cedar Wilderness Trails

Located at 5950 Eagle Ford Drive, this is one of the most secluded trails in Dallas. If you are looking to get a little actual downhill mountain biking in, Big Cedar is as close as you can get in the Dallas area. There are several different trails, all varying in difficulty.

  1. Oak Point

While this is technically in Plano, this trail is one of the most beautiful in the area. With over 800 acres to explore, you will find giant trees, flowers, and fields during your ride. Trails are clearly marked and relatively easy. This is the perfect trail if you are searching for a relaxing ride with your family.

  1. Heights Park

Located in Richardson, this is a family-friendly location to ride with the kids. There is a trail that winds around the park, perfect for new riders. After a relaxing bike ride, there are several locations for children to play including a sports field, playground, and plenty of open space.
