Bicycle Safety Tips for Kids
Keeping your children safe is one of the most important parts of being a parent, but sometimes all the information can make you confused as to what is best. When it comes to bicycle safety, we at Cyclist at Law know that there are a few things that you can do to make sure that your kids are safe when having fun riding their bicycles.
Helmets
Wearing a helmet is one of the best things that your children can do to stay safe on a bike. A good way to ensure that your kids wear their helmets is to set an example. Kids are more likely to practice bicycle safety if they see a trusted adult doing the same. When you ride your bike, make sure that you always wear a helmet that fits properly.
Helmet Sizing
While simply wearing a helmet can save a life, wearing the right helmet in the right way can do more to protect your family. A helmet that fits snugly, but not too tight, is the best choice and should not impede the vision or hearing of the wearer.
Supervision
There is really no bicycle safety tip that can substitute for proper adult supervision. Keeping an eye out for your children while they are riding bikes can keep them safe from cars or other hazards that they may not notice.
